CAS and GW Acrylic Enter into Collaboration Agreement

September 25, 2017 10:45:27 AM EDT

Collector Archive Services and GW Acrylic are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement whereby each company will work together to better serve the community by broadening our respective product and service offerings and the reach thereof.  In particular, CAS will now sell through its website GW Acrylic branded sliding bottom cases.  GW Acrylic will work with CAS to produce specialized sliding bottom with optimal designs, and will now have inside knowledge of CAS’s operations and, as such, a reliable place to which to refer its customers that desire custom acrylic fabrication or preservation and grading services.

The owners of each of CAS and GW Acrylic have been friends for several years, so we decided to do what we can to help one another offer products and services of a quality that is unmatched by anything else available on the market.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.  Many exciting times ahead!

Submission Times

July 26, 2017 6:05:56 AM EDT

Transparency as to our process and turnaround time is important to us. Although our previously published 30-day turn around time for non-custom orders (custom items take a bit longer) is not a guarantee, it is a goal to which we strive. To date, as to most of the orders we have processed, we have achieved that goal.

However, our move to Florida last month set us back a few weeks due to the move itself, construction at our facility, additional training of staff, and setting up our systems in a new location. As such, through the end of the summer, we will likely be two to four weeks behind in our turn around time.

We expect that this delay will be a one-time event, as the move itself primarily caused the delay. Importantly, we will soon announce our hiring of a new employee and other exciting moves we are making to scale a business that has grown exponentially faster than we anticipated, which of course is an extremely positive thing. We appreciate your patience in the interim.

As always...

Sellersville Auction Statement

June 16, 2017 8:10:46 AM EDT

At Collector Archive Services (CAS), transparency to the collector community is what we are founded on. We have been asked about Sellersville Auction, and in the interest of transparency and to avoid some of the confusion we see out there, here are the facts as we know them on Ken Black's former part ownership of Sellersville Auction and the related bankruptcy filing.

Ken and his former partner (who is not affiliated with CAS) ran into financial trouble running Sellersville Auction, and they were not able to right the ship. Like many small businesses, Sellersville tried to make it work, and after exploring every viable option, they regrettably shut it down. Due to Ken's personal guarantees of certain Sellersville obligations, he filed for bankruptcy. Anyone to whom Sellersville owes money has been listed in the bankruptcy case with the full claim amount listed. Ken is on a repayment plan, subject to approval of the bankruptcy court in Pennsylvania.

To be clear, neither CAS, Todd DeMart...

CAS Announces Addition of Ross Barr to Ownership Team

CAS is thrilled to announce that it has added Ross Barr to its ownership team. Ross is an avid collector of Star Wars, GI Joe, and other vintage toy lines and memorabilia from the 1970s and 1980s. Ross is an active member of the vintage Star Wars action figure collecting community, having been the founder and administrator of several well-subscribed online collector groups and author of articles on collector websites aimed at helping collectors.

Ross deeply values the connections he has with his fellow collectors and enjoys interacting with the collector community above all else. For that reason, we believe Ross is the perfect addition to our ownership team, and he will serve as our Chief Collector Relations Officer, an important role in helping us achieve our mission of providing the best possible display, preservation, and documentation services to collectors at all times. That is, Ross will work tirelessly to reach out to his fell...
